Donna Byrne, Secretary
My passion began in college while I was at the University of Montana (Missoula) as a student studying Broadcasting. I produced a public affairs radio show at the local NPR affiliate and during this time I interviewed for my show the producers of local public television content. I shared with them my support of cable public access television. As a result they asked me to speak at a City Council meeting about the need for a proper public access television channel.
Not long after, the producers offered me a job at MQTV (Montanans for Quality Television) and my video/tv production experience began. I learned to shoot cameras, edit videotape, write scripts, use boom mics, and be on camera. The following year I was hired by NPR in Washington as a sound engineer (self-taught at the college radio station) where I worked for several years and later became a producer. I also had an internship at an NBC affiliate television station in Phoenix, AZ where I learned how to write and produce newscasts. Fast forward to 2003 when my husband and I started working on films together. We have been making films for close to 20 years now. I serve as a producer, camera person, script editor, audio person, and all around free labor :) |
